It's 2019!!! I'm still in awe that we're right at the beginning of a fresh new year! But before getting into that, how were your holidays?! We had a truly lovely time. What my Home REALLY looks like on a Regular Basis!
In an era of social media with its perfect pictures along with a perfectly curated image, it's hard not to fall into the trap of feeling less than perfect. Even I fall into that rabbit hole of feeling like my home is not organized enough, styled enough, or pretty enough and I know what goes on behind blogger scenes! So today I'm here to tell you, no one's house is perfect! Heck, my house is NOT perfect! And here's the proof! Let's Dive in, shall we? Our Front Entrance: Let's first take a peek at our entryway: It's small but we recently prettied-up! Here's what it looks like on a regular day: Boxes. My luggage made it! (Haven Conference 2018 Recap!)
The title says it all!!! If you remember my experience from last year, you'll know how I lived for 80% of the conference without my luggage which had EVERYTHING. Business cards, clothes, shoes, everything. This year I was smart and packed pretty much all of my essential stuff (including 2 changes of clothes!) into my carry-on. Then I had a déja-vu moment. I arrived in Charleston and the carousel did NOT have my checked bag. So off I went to the airline baggage area and wouldn't you know it, my bag came EARLY!!! The weekend was already off to a great start :) Hello Haven Conference and Hello Charleston, South Carolina! Day 1 I had the pleasure of bunking with the lovely Ursula from "Home Made by Carmona" on the first night, a blogger I had been following for years. You know how ... [ Read More ]
Welcome 2018!!!
Ok kids, January 1st, 2018 is almost over (gah!) but I wanted to pop in with an update and a hello! Did you have a fun holiday?! Are you still full from all of the good eats? I will be on an austerity program pronto, lemme tell you ;) It's been almost 2 months since I've written (!) but it's been with good reason - we were trying to sell our current home! Are we insane for doing this before Christmas? Yes. Did it work out? No. So we'll be still living at our current address for now but we are forever grateful for the support (including that of our awesome realtors) while we were in the process. Here are a few shots of our home courtesy of Andy & Paddy: Now that we're staying put, I have plans people! A few bathroom re-dos, some organizing projects, a basement ... [ Read More ]

Thankful.
To my Canadian friends and family, Happy Thanksgiving!!! While today's post was going to be about a tutorial I had worked on, my little one became sick over the weekend so today I wanted to focus on being grateful - it is Thanksgiving after all! So while this weekend didn't go quite how we planned, we still gathered to celebrate the occasion which is something we need to do more often. (Do you feel that way too?) Life always seems to get too busy but I love getting together with friends and family and catching up. And in a world that, in my opinion, has gone bat-crap-crazy lately, I think an appreciation of the people you heart the most should be relished. It's all too easy to take for granted! Not too long ago my mother had quite a few surgeries where I thought, "that's it, we're ... [ Read More ]
BlogPodium 2017 Recap – I miss you already!
BlogPodium. It's a Canadian blogger conference that occurs in Toronto for one day only and if you're a blogger, veteran or new, you MUST attend. Jennifer Flores from "Rambling Renovators" is the lovely organizer who, with a host of other wonderful people, put this whole conference together which was no small feat. Between the venue, the sponsors, the food, the giveaways, the networking, I'm exhausted at thinking how I would tackle this all! Good thing is I don't have to thanks to that fabulous team! Why did I love it so much? Community. Nothing beats getting a big group of people together that talk your talk, are warm, generous, and just plain fun to be around. You won't have to apologize for talking blog all day long, they love jamming about it as much as you do! Networking. ... [ Read More ]
