In an era of social media with its perfect pictures along with a perfectly curated image, it’s hard not to fall into the trap of feeling less than perfect. Even I fall into that rabbit hole of feeling like my home is not organized enough, styled enough, or pretty enough and I know what goes on behind blogger scenes! So today I’m here to tell you, no one’s house is perfect! Heck, my house is NOT perfect! And here’s the proof!
Let’s Dive in, shall we?
Our Front Entrance:
Let’s first take a peek at our entryway:
It’s small but we recently prettied-up! Here’s what it looks like on a regular day:
Boxes. Boxes of stuff to give to others, boxes of packages (thank you Amazon!), boxes that need to be recycled, random things that need to be put away, etc.
Our Living Room:
This is a photograph I would post if I were to talk about something related to our coffee tables:
But here is what’s lurking behind them:
See that bin with a big ole’ garbage bag peeking out? I started purging that bin about 2 weeks ago and never finished so that bag is still there.
Here is our lovely fireplace mantle!
And here is the mess in the corner that lies next to it:
Every time I was about to purge those bins, something else got in the way. (The mess is still there by the way) 😉
Our Dining Room:
Finally let’s take a look at our dining room. Here are some photographs of the space that I’m happy to share:
Now here is what our dining room table looks like as we speak:
Yup. It’s a mess of random toys and stuff. And with a mirror wall, reflections can be your best friend or worst nightmare! Every time I took a picture of that feature wall, I’d have to move something over or change something out so that the mirrors wouldn’t reflect it!
So.
Do you feel better about your home now that you’ve seen what mine looks like on a regular basis?! 😉 Whenever social media makes you feel like you have the worst home ever just remember, the images they’re showing are only a snippet of what their home actually looks like. I try and remind myself this every time I play the “how do they keep their house so clean” game!
And with that I’m off to finally finish that bin purging I’ve been meaning to do…after I finish up that project I was working on… 😉

Messes!Clutter! I agree ,they are always present ….it’s called “ LIFE”
That’s why I love having company for a weekend or a “ party”…makes you pull up your socks & make the living spaces presentable (course then all the closets & drawers are jammed!)
