Oh I’m so happy you’re here as I’ve actually made some headway in the ORC!! Thank you to Linda from “Calling it Home” for creating this challenge as it has kicked my rear-end into high gear and I’m getting excited about this powder finally being done!
So the last couple of weeks were slooowww for me in terms of doing anything for this space. But today I’m proud to tell you that the painting is is pretty much done! The wallpapering will be this week’s venture (I miss my specialist – JM, I’m looking at you!) and John and I are working on a neat little vanity update that I’ll have for you next week! So why am I this excited??? It’s because the crappy stuff (for me!) is DONE!!! Here are a few phone pictures to show you!
This is me trying to get out of the shot while showing you what I’m doing…
And here is the mess that inevitably comes with painting…
But (dang!) the black paint is looking good…
Seriously I had no idea how much I hated painting until now – it’s tedious, the amount of prep work exceeds the time it takes to paint anything and the mess – I’m a pretty careful painter but holy crap the mess – and the achy body! I forgot that it would take a careful hand to paint around the vanity and in behind the toilet as they weren’t going anywhere. Next time they’re going somewhere. And smaller spaces don’t mean less hassle – you’re just working in a tinier space which sometimes means more detail work than if you were working in a larger room! I’ve learned many lessons here my friends. But I don’t have any regrets, promise – this bathroom is going to look AMAZING!!! (Here’s hoping you’ll like it too!)
What’s left to do?
- Wallpaper 2 walls
- Polish up the floor
- Spray painting project
- Mount the vanity DIY
- Change out the lighting fixture
- Add in a mirror
- Put up artwork
- Touch-up any paint issues (*ugh*)
- Accessorize! (My favourite part!)
It looks like a lot but it really isn’t…well it is but I’m convinced it’ll be fine (*gulp*) If you follow me on Instagram then you may see me renege on that last statement rather quickly next week 😉
Now go check out what all the other participants are doing! It makes me want to revamp more rooms! (*John is shaking his head at me*)

Will the birds be on the wallpaper – or the lighting fixture? I can’t wait to see the final reveal :):)

LOL! I’m going to keep you in suspense my friend but I hope you’ll like it!! (2 weeks left!! I’m starting to panic…)
Shirley says
Hang in there …as you said MAJOR progress has been made (while all us other non participating folks are still sitting on our butts ,looking at our rooms saying ” I really should renovate that space”)
Looking forward to seeing the next post!

Aww thanks so much!! I think next week’s post will be JAM PACKED as I have so many things I want to show you!

Loving the black wall! I want to do one in my laundry room. I agree, the mess of painting is a hassle. I can’t wait to clean up our dining room – the whole house actually because the mess seems to spread to other rooms! And the short timeline of the challenge makes it hard to get to regular everyday cleaning elsewhere.
