In the midst of working on another project that I’ve been dying to show you, I had quickly DIY-ed a vase I had into one that was more interesting – well, geometric! And it was SUPER easy.
How to DIY a Geometric Vase!
Materials
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A vase you’re willing to paint!
- Decorative Acrylic Paint (I love Decoart’s line!)
- Paint or Foam Brushes
- Painter’s Tape (FrogTape is my favourite!)
Easy Steps to Follow
Step #1 – Cut a piece of tape that is a little more than the length of your vase and place it on your vase.
Step #2 – Repeat Step #1 by place another piece of tape on your vase in a random pattern but layering it on the last piece you placed. Keep repeating this step until you’re happy with the outcome.
Step #3 – Start painting! Paint random sections between your tape lines, leaving some of the sections bare so that you can achieve that geometric look. In my case I was going for gray and black so I only needed to use black paint BUT you could use more than one colour to achieve a more distinct look!
Step #4 – Carefully strip each piece of tape. I get impatient and strip the tape when everything is wet but it’s probably best to give the paint a bit of time to dry before taking the tape off.
Step #5 – Revel in your new vase which went from blah to a modern geometric!
Easy-peasy right?! And this whole process took a total of 10 minutes to complete. Actually 5 minutes if you’re like me and you don’t care to wait for the paint to dry 😉
