This little pantry in our kitchen is used ALL. THE. TIME. It houses soup, pasta, sauces, snacks, you name it. But the outside of the door was looking a little haggard thanks to our resident artist (who’s almost 4) and her sticker prowess. Since she loves using that space as an art wall (I can see how she views it as a big white empty canvas), I decided to turn the whole thing into a white board! Here’s what I’m starting with, along with the real life mess inside of it! (It desperately needs organizing…)
Here are the materials I used (affiliate links are provided):
- White board wall sticker
- White board markers/eraser
- 3M Command Strips
- IKEA Fiskbo frames (in a variety of sizes)
Now for my PSA of the day: take extra care to measure people!!! I’m a math-y and you’d think this skill would come easy to me but it doesn’t so projects always cost me more to do because of it! Ok my PSA is now over 🙂
So after making sure you have enough of the wall sticker to cover the area it’s intended for, the actual process to put the wall sticker up was insanely easy. It’s a peel-and-stick process but pay careful attention to any bubbles that may form. Don’t use a credit card or anything sharp to get rid of them as they may damage the writing surface. (Can you tell I speak from experience?!) And the floating frame technique using 3M Command Strips and the IKEA frames is a tutorial you can grab if you subscribe! 😉
My daughter was keen to try it out 🙂
I added in my monthly printable I created with zero tasks on it for this month. February has been brutal so far for me in the virus department. I’m still hacking after almost 3 weeks! (Anyone else in the same boat?!)
Here it is in its final incarnation – isn’t it a neat focal point?!
Now not only does the pantry get used a lot but so does the front of this door!

Love this so much! The addition of the frames makes it feel like a gallery wall – fantastic job!

Such perfect idea!!! If I thought it, I would not need to keep talking to myself, let it go, will re-paint the wall later.
