Have you recovered from SuperBowl mania? I’m not a huge fan but the bit with JT and Prince was pretty impressive! While everyone was analyzing passes and plays, I was planning out the swapping out of our little girl’s nursery for a big girl room! She’s turning 4 (FOUR!!) in May and it’s about time!!
The reason this plan took so long was because I thought we’d be a new home by now but that didn’t work out. So onto plan B – finish designing the rooms I intended on working on in the first place! Thanks to our fabulous realtors Paddy & Andy, here’s a picture to show you what the room looks like now (in its cleanest state!):
What you can’t see is a dresser on the other side of the room that acted as a change table when she was a baby (something we haven’t used in years). And while the crib was converted into a toddler bed, she’s almost outgrown it and her closet needs a PURGE! Add to that taking out the chair and possibly the dresser and you have an (almost) blank slate to work with. Want to see my design direction for this space?
When the nursery was originally designed, I loved grey and orange. I still do! But pink, white and black are such a striking combo, I thought this scheme would be fun! The closet is already black and white so I would only need to change out the already outdated labels. I would also need to remove all the decals and artwork and possibly consider a re-paint (although grey places nicely with just about everything). I’m also considering placing a sliding door (and possibly make it a chalkboard?) for her closet. Wouldn’t that make for an interesting focal point?
Now this design is subject to the approval of our almost-4 year old! And while I didn’t include any Paw Patrol fabric or details, notice that dog print fabric I chose? (Maybe I’ll get away with that being the substitute?!?!) I’ll keep you posted 😉
