WE HAVE SNOW!! Ok, right now it’s melting, but there are remnants of snow found everywhere here in Ottawa. And with December approaching, this gave us the motivation we needed to tackle our front door and made it a bit more Christmas-y!
Our (Almost!) DIY Christmas Outdoor Decor!
I’m back with a pack of very creative bloggers for a “Deck the Home Blog Hop” and this week we’ll be sharing our take on “Outdoor Christmas Decor”! Keep reading to see my take on this project but be sure to check out all of the creative talent in the link-up below! If you’re not inspired to break out the glue gun after perusing their projects, I don’t know what it will take 😉
For my outdoor decor project, I’m going to be honest, I cheated a bit. Our local grocery store had ready-made wreaths and planter arrangements which were quite full and pretty (ahem…excuse the broom…)
But I couldn’t help putting my twist on it and added in a few embellishments!
Materials
You’ll need:
- Wooden Stars (I got mine from the dollar store)
- Paint and Paint Brushes
- Wording (I found these metal ones at a craft store)
- Adhesive Dots
Getting Started
1) My outdoor Christmas colour scheme is red, black and white so I began by painting my wooden stars with black acrylic paint.
2) Next I added applied the adhesive dots to the back of my metal wording.
3) Apply your lettering to each wooden star and go decorate!
While I thought about changing out our welcome mat, I’ve got all of our mail carriers and couriers well trained ha ha!
