Like me, you’re probably in awe of what the world is like today. In my hometown city (Ottawa, Canada), we are on lockdown. No school for the kiddos, work from home for the adults that can, a lot of self employed businesses and businesses in general either closed or modifying their business strategy to include virtual services/delivery/pick-up options, etc. And then there are those that have to work. Our front line workers. Grocery store clerks, pharmacies, hospital workers, long term care workers, city services like garbage pick-up, the list goes on. They have to confront our pandemic head on each day and then go home to their loved ones before they have to do it all again. I applaud them.
When I heard people were putting up pink hearts on their front door to salute these workers that soldier to work each day, our household joined in. I took materials that I had on hand and went to work.
How to make an easy “Thank You” sign for Front Line Workers
Step 1: Gather your Materials
I had a 16″ wooden circle from Michaels that I had purchased months ago for another project. I also had pink and white vinyl which were leftovers from other Cricut projects and black acrylic paint. That’s all I used to create this sign but you can use whatever you have on hand.
Step 2: Paint your Sign
I have a white front door so I decided to paint the wooden circle black to have it stand out by using simple black acrylic paint.
Step 3: Make your Pink Heart
I’m lucky enough to have a Cricut Explore Air 2 machine and I use that thing every chance I get! I had some pink vinyl leftover from an old project so I used my Cricut and cut out a large pink heart which I then applied to the wooden sign.
Step 4: Add in Embellishments
I used my Cricut once more to cut out the words “Thank You” using some white vinyl but you can either stop here or do the same!
Step 5: Put your New Sign on your Front Door
No explanation needed here!
To all those who are out there providing crucial services during this crazy time, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you ♥️
