I don’t know about you but in our house, we use plastic sealable bags EVERYWHERE! From using them for their actual intended purpose (i.e., food!) to toys, puzzle pieces, hardware, etc. They are resuable, sturdy and practical! And recently I discovered that the boxes they are housed in are just as useful too!
Easy Craft Project using Empty Boxes!
I was about to throw out this empty box until it dawned on me that, with a little prettying up, it could be reused for another purpose!
Materials
You’ll need:
- An empty box
- Scissors
- Self-adhesive shelf liner or cover paper
- A pencil
The Process!
Step 1: Undo your box until it’s completely flat. My box had flaps you could undo so I didn’t need to cut anything down.
Step 2: Trace the outline of your box onto the self-adhesive paper, making sure to outline the lid flap, if you have one:
Step 3: Cut out the lid flap (if applicable) and apply it to your box:
Step 4: Cut out the rest of the outline you traced and apply it to your box.
Step 5: Reassemble your box and, voila! You have a pretty new storage box! (Optional: I lined the inside of the box using the same process with some leftover chalkboard self-adhesive paper I had lying around)
I store this newly restored box in our pantry for a very important purpose:
Treats that are hidden in plain view 🙂
