Ornaments! By far the best part of Christmas decorating. And when you make them yourself (or with the help of your family), all the better!
Our DIY Christmas Travel Ornaments!
The is the last week of our “Deck the Home Blog Hop” and today we’re sharing our ideas on “DIY Christmas Ornaments”! Keep reading to see my take on this project but be sure to check out all of the creative talent in the link-up below! If you’re not inspired to break out the glue gun after perusing their projects, I don’t know what it will take 😉
Getting Started
1) For our DIY ornament this year, we made one that celebrated our most recent trip to Destin, Florida with my in-laws. My kiddo and I stashed away some sand and seashells from the beach before we left for home and whipped these ornaments up! All it took was a fill-able ornament (we got ours from Michaels).
2) We took a funnel and started scooping in the sand into the ornament.
3) Next we added in the seashells which we made sure were tiny so that they’d fit inside the ornament!
4) We used our Cricut machine to add some lettering to the ornament to explain what it represents. (Gramma and Poppa, avert your eyes – this is one of your Christmas presents!)
Simple, right?! And I love that it’s a keepsake that our kiddo and I made together ♥

Oh my goodness they are so beautiful….& soooo easy for a DIY!!!!! The lettering is just the “icing on the cake”…makes it look anything but a DIY.

So sweet and what a fun thing to do together. Haha I’m sure they will love it. Homemade ornaments are great because they capture a moment in time that then last forever!

I think so too!! LOL! Thanks Jenny!!

I LOVE this idea. I like to collect rocks, shells, sticks, sand, whatever I can from my road trips. This is great way to keep those memories as a part of Christmas.
Thanks so much for sharing!
