Hello Monday! How did the weekend treat you? I caught a miserable cold and on Saturday I lost my voice. John enjoyed that part thoroughly! 😉
I’m still squeaky but I had to tell you about my latest finding. It’s a quick little organizational tip for you that comes from an unexpected item that was too pretty to pass up.
They’re gift card holders! Yes I’m crazy, but stick with me, I’ll show you how I use them! Here’s what they look like on the inside:
I picked several up at the dollar store because I loved how chic they were. (I’m guessing our dollar stores cleared out the CVS stock on these?!)
Then the idea struck me – couldn’t I use these tins to store some of my smaller items? So I started with some jewelry studs. The velvet backing was perfect to pierce each stud backing into and the sunken middle part which is supposed to hold a gift card, nicely holds larger earrings.
Since I sometimes (read: always) forget to put my earrings on, I throw one of these discs into my purse but not before I put in a gift card or two that I also forget to use!
They are so tiny and thin that stacking them up on your nightstand (or anywhere really!) wouldn’t take up much room.
I may grab a few more, take out the inserts and organize some office supplies, small craft items and pretty much anything I can throw in there! They’re actually metallic and magnetic so can you imagine them hanging up on a wall on a magnetic sheet?! (Is it weird that I get this excited about organizing all the things?!)
My big take-away from today’s post is to not overlook the many different ways you can use things that you see. Just using these gorgeous tins as gift card holders is a waste! At least in my humble opinion 🙂

Hi Lidia,
Great post! I love the idea of using these tins in my office, which happens to have a black and white scheme. I did drop by a local Dollarama but they didn’t have these in stock. Might you be willing to reveal your source for these tins?
Thanks,
Kate
