At the top of the year I wrote about my word for 2018 which was “accomplish”! So off I went, starting a massive “to-do” list of all the things I wanted to get done for the year. But something I’m guilty of doing pretty much every time (ask my hubby), is setting out a task list and then not doing said task list. And I always have an excuse: I’m too busy, I put too many things on the list, I’m tired, I want to do something else, I’m tired, do I really want to do this, have I mentioned I’m tired….sound like you too? (Please say yes…)
That said, I’ve realized that I’m a deadline-oriented person. If I don’t attach an end date to something, it will NOT happen. Or it will happen, but in a few months from now. (Maybe even a few years from now!)
So this year I created a monthly “To-Do” Schedule! (It’s a free printable I made for you too!)
It prints on 12 separate sheets, one month per sheet, and the idea is that you write out the tasks you want to do for the month (it could be organizing-related, house-related, whatever!) and for each item you’ve outlined, there’s a box to enter a due date, something that’s meant to hold us accountable! The added bonus of a deadline is that, in our house, no one is allowed to bug each other about an item on the list until AFTER the due date! HA!
Make sense? Here’s what I have so far for my January “to-do” list!
I plan on mounting this up in our kitchen to remind me (and others!) of what I’m expecting to accomplish this month! Most of it is organizing related. When we were in the throes of selling our home last year, the amount of crap I was jamming into spaces I hoped no one would see was insane. And the stuff I was holding onto was insane. (Did I really need 49857289047 picture frames that I didn’t intend on using? And how many pillow forms does someone REALLY need?!) I may need to print more copies…

Is it a happy coincidence that your to-do list matches your kitchen colours?! Good luck following through; after all, the best part of any list is getting to cross something off of it.

A total coincidence! 😉 P.S. Yes!!! That’s why I also love having an old fashioned planner…there’s something about writing it down vs typing it out.
