Welcome back to the Spring 2017 edition of the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda and House Beautiful! (If you’re new here, welcome!)
Ok. This. was. hard. I was away for a couple of weeks, I was sidelined with some crappy virus for another week, there were flooded basements in the mix…but…IT’S DONE!!!!!!!!
There are still bits to be finalized and I’ll have a whole host of tutorials and sources for you in the next little while (this post would be a million words long if I crammed it all in) so for this post, let’s get down to the good stuff – the “before” and “after” pictures!!!
Here was my design board for the space:
The idea was to turn this space into something calm and serene. After all, isn’t the bathroom a quiet little escape for most people? (Wait, I’m making it sound like some sort of holiday but you know what I mean!)
Here are the “before” pictures of what the powder room looked like when I started:
Nothing crazy but it was nothing I had picked out and it was plain and beige. Want to see what it looks like now???
Isn’t she beautiful???!!!
I wrapped two walls of the powder room in this gorgeous cloud wallpaper from Bouclair and the rest of the walls (including the ceiling) got treated to some nice thick glossy black paint. I tried to capture the wrap-around black effect in this picture:
When you walk into the space, it’s like you’re walking in the clouds! A perfect place to be alone with your thoughts! And because you know me and you know that birds always seem to pop up when I design, I’ll leave you with this last shot:
A big thank you goes to HomeRight for providing some fabulous painting tools that made my life so much easier!!!
And a big thank you to Linda from Calling it Home and House Beautiful who’ve graciously hosted us these last 6 weeks (and kicked our butts into gear in getting a space re-imagined!)
Now go take a look at all the beautiful work that the other participants have done! (It may inspire you to join in the next challenge!)
